Kacey Musgraves Review

Review by Yulan Holtz

Crypto.com Arena | Los Angeles, CA

October 18, 2026

Kacey Musgraves sparkled, literally, at the first of two shows at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. She brought nothing but good vibes, country flair and a space for everyone to feel welcome. Even though her “Middle of Nowhere” Tour is wrapping up its US leg, the energy seemed as high as it had been on the very first day.

The light shined as she made her first appearance towards the back of the stage on top of an elevated trailer to perform “Everybody Wants to Be a Cowboy.” She then worked her way through the crowd of fans to the main stage, which was built on a circulating track.

Released in May of this year, “Middle of Nowhere” is Kacey’s seventh studio album and draws inspiration from her Texas roots, with the inclusion of regional Mexican styles of music.

The setlist featured her latest hits like “Dry Spell” and “Mexico Honey,” and some of the classics from her critically acclaimed album “Golden Hour.” It’s not a Kacey Musgraves concert without hearing songs like “Butterflies” and “Follow Your Arrow” because they are truly timeless.

Kacey recently made headlines for bringing James Talarico onstage at her show in Dallas, and has been outspoken about what she believes in. She made sure to mention that she’s glad everyone was at the show, regardless of whether they agreed with her (politically) or not, and that we need to see the humanity in each other more than ever. She also made sure to shout out all the Latinos at the concert, saying she thought they may have outnumbered the white people in the room.

The concert finished with a cover of George Strait’s “All My Ex's Live in Texas” and the crowd stayed through to the very end. By the way, if you haven’t seen any videos on social media of her disco ball yet, make sure to look it up.

We may have been in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, but Kacey brought the middle of nowhere to the crowd and it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday evening.
