Gallagher Square at Petco Park is an unconventional concert venue, a baseball-adjacent expanse that typically hosts Padres pre-game festivities. But on Sunday night, it was transformed into an intimate amphitheater for a devoted crowd that gathered for a different kind of home run. Madison Beer, on the San Diego stop of "the locket tour," delivered a set that felt both stadium-sized and deeply personal; a testament to her evolution from viral sensation to bona fide pop star.

The evening opened with sets from Thuy and Lulu Simon, two rising artists who warmed the crowd with their respective blends of pop and R&B. By the time Beer emerged, the air was thick with excitement. The lights dimmed, the opening notes of “yes baby” rang through the speakers, and screams filled the entire venue. It was clear this was a night for the faithful.

Beer's setlist was a carefully curated journey through her discography, balancing the moody introspection of her Silence Between Songs era with more pop-forward energy. After opening with "yes baby," she dove right into the club ready "15 MINUTES" and the defiant "BOYSHIT." The crowd sang along to "Dear Society" and the haunting "Selfish," moments that showcased the vocal maturity that has set her apart from her peers.

But it was not only Beer's vocals that have seen considerable growth, fans that have been around since her “As She Pleases Tour” will note that her stage presence has evolved just as much. What was once a shy, almost reluctant stage persona has given way to a confident command of the space. She moved across the stage with purpose, engaging the crowd with genuine warmth that made Gallagher Square feel far more intimate than its capacity suggested. Fans sang along to every word, a communal release that was both joyful and cathartic.

The show's final stretch was a victory lap of undeniable pop gems. "Make You Mine" and "Baby" had the entire square bouncing, while "Spinnin" and the closing "Bittersweet" sent fans home on a wave of euphoric nostalgia. Madison Beer has, with "the locket tour," unlocked something special. She is no longer just a voice on a playlist; she is a presence, a performer, and for the thousands at Gallagher Square, a shared, emotional experience.
